Sepia Sunday

When my oldest son got married, he and his bride had an old west style, sepia toned photo done at Virginia City, Nevada. I was so taken by the idea that I urged family members to have similar pictures taken.
This picture of my parents was taken in Jerome, Arizona when they were in their seventies. I have others of my family members to post from time to time. I love having these "old" photos and have been framing copies for my children and grandchildren.

I love looking at old photographs and imagining what life was like for those people. They mean so muc more when those pictured are actually your family:) I wish my grandmother and her sister had been better at marking who each person was in the picture because now no one knows. She wanted to but life kept getting in the way and she would put it off until "another time" and then there wasn't any time. Mark your pictures people! :)

I just received some old family photos from a third cousin twice removed (or some such relative). One is a wedding photo, and I can place the bride and groom, but no-one else. And there's nothing written on the back of the photo..... I wish someone had thought of noting down the names. But back then, everyone knew who everyone else was, no need to make notes!

What a wonderful portrait of your parents in old costumes. I love photos in sepia. They have an antique look.

Mayr Beth, I guess that's telling us that we should write the names on our photos, but I'm really bad at it.

Ex, I have photos of many people I can only guess about. I'm going to start writing things on the back of photos right now! But most of my photos are in my computer now. It raises a whole new issue!

Thanks Giv'em:)

Changes, it is fun! The little kids expecially love it!

Yes put names and relationships on the pictures or in the computer file. Going through the In Laws estate and all their old photographs would have been more interesting if I knew who they were and what the date or location was.
