Happy St. Patricks Day!

I thought this clip art girl all dressed in green would make a good St. Paddy's Day statement, but she looks rather sad doesn't she?
Ah well, I'm of good cheer and I hope you are too, and soon to be filled to the brim with corned beef and cabbage or green beer or whatever suits your fancy!
It's a sunny day here at the One Acre Wood, and the trees are thinking seriously about the wearin' of the green! Spring is in the air!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you too. Unfortunately, our trees are still trying to decide which of their green frocks to wear and are standing around bare. But every day it gets a little warmer and I think, soon ...

Mrs. Clancy and Mrs. O'Reilly were standing in line in St. Bridget's waiting to go to confession to Fr. Feeney. Inside the confessional, Rose Hannigan was telling Father about her new job as an acrobat on Broadway. "Oh, yes, Father, sure an' it's a grand job. I'm learnin' all kinds of interestin' new things. Would ye like a demonstration?"

"Why, that would be very nice, don't mind if I do!" So Rose exits her side of the confessional, and Father steps out of the central door. Rose begins to demonstrate her acrobatic moves, doing cartwheels, backbends, splits, and all kinds of limber-bodied movements. Father was deeply impressed, but not as much as Mrs. O'Reilly, who turned to Mrs. Clancy and said, "Sure, an' Father is givin' some strange penances these days!" Mrs. Clancy looked worried. "Aye, an' wouldn't ye be knowin' I'm here t'day without me bloomers on?"

Hah! My apricot trees have long since bloomed, silly things. Yesterday, I say beaucoups daffodils & today, I planted nasturtium seeds in pots I brought indoors for early growth while it's still cool enough for them. I love spring, even though we are drying up every day now.
