It's time to order those seeds! After mulling over the seemingly infinite possibilities, Ee and I have decided on garden-lite. For me, tomatoes, tomatoes, tomatoes and a bit of Swiss chard. Of course easy to grow zucchini, yellow crook neck, butternut, and spaghetti squash. Maybe I'll put a little Black Seeded Simpson lettuce in my flower garden.
Early girl of course, as they do best in our short growing season. And I want to try some of those little gape tomatoes that can be tossed in a salad wholeand tase great . An heirloom tomato is a must too. I'm looking for the right one, probably Black Prince. And one of the greatest joys in all this is that all this planning and looking ahead is sooooo easy!

You and my husband get more excited about planning the garden than anyone I know. I just go along with whatever pops out of the ground.
Love those pictures, esp. the tomatoes from the old herbal. I, too, have morning glories -- I have my kids buy them for me (out of state, of course). Vegwise, I'll do my usual, which is a couple of minis in one of my containers.
GA, I don't know why I get so excited about growing things in Jan and Feb. Good sense takes over when the hard work time comes..

Question? Have you ever tried growing asparagus out here? I remember it growing wild, beside the roadway in northern New Mexico way back when ... so I "presumed" (ha) I'd find those seeds for sale when I moved back West. So far, nothing.

I'll buy some baby tomato plants already started in pots, but it's quite hard to decide where to plant them as my back yard is shaded with lots of mature trees.

Hi Sham! It's really hard to grow tomatoes with little sun. I imagine your growing season is rather short too. I'm hoping to have some fair sized plants by planting time as our growing season is pretty short and about the time they are bearing well, it freezes!
It sure must be that time. Marilyn was in a rush to get home today. She wanted to finish her seed & plant order. Now,,,how to pay for it.
She's even has her mind set on planting spinach next week. Pretty good trick for ground that has frost a long was down.
