A year ago I posted these pictures of two chicks who were left in the nest when the hen took a large brood of previously hatched babes out and about. Eeyore brought the hatched chick and an almost hatched chick inside where we placed them in a box with a lamp over it to give them some warmth.
Eeyore played mama hen to the lonely babes.
A little scratching and a fellow just can't keep his eyes open!
I do hope to get in control of my life someday soon so I can both post
and read my favorite blogs again. I miss that morning routine,
and I miss keeping up with what's happening in every one's lives!

great little update
Chicken Whisperer!
You are so clever, She..and I love the photos! :)
The Bantam rooster looks awesome.
I love your granddaughter's buttons!
How to hypnotise a chicken:
Tell her to put a thick long stick or broom handle on the ground, place the hen (or rooster) on the ground at the end of the broom handle and gently hold the hens head on the ground facing the end of the handle.... so the hen is looking along the length of the handle. Then gradually let go of the hen... she'll stay there with her chin on the ground mesmerised by the handle.
What great pictures. I love the one of your grandaughter holding all three. Isn't it a shame that life has a tendency to get in the way of what we want to do?
Oh, I miss my chickens. I loved watching them scratching, pecking, and dusting themselves, even if it WAS in my flower beds! :o(
Really nice photographs. I love chickens too.
Have a nice weekend.

Great post....the first picture with the chick still in the egg is amazing! and the to see your Granddaughter holding them.....really special.
Thanks Tombo:)
Thanks Jan:) They really seem to love her!
Givem, those little things shine and glint in the sunshine..
ex, I'm emailing Mu right away..I'm sure she'll have fun with that!
Hey Teach, I keep hoping things will return to simmer:)
OldSD, there is something homey about some hens roaming the yard doin' their little business:)
Thanks OldML:)
Changes, we weren't sure the chick in the egg would make it but she turned out to be that little golden hen!
Miss you too and I love this post and the title of chicken whisperer. Delightful. Blog when you can, I'll still be here.
How great is this!!!
I love the picture of the lonely chicks eploring E's neck. Chickens are one of those animals that look like so much fun when they're little and I'm never sure how I would react when they grow up. However, I'd love to see what the cat's would do if we let them loose in the back yard. "Look what she bought us now!!!!!" hee hee
TBL -- To Be Linked, in my next Critter update! Splendid pictures, both of E and of Mu.
Very nice. I haven't been here for a while, but I love the look and feel of your posts.
:-)
Eeyore sure has a soft heart! What wonderful photos. Your Granddaughter is beautiful, & she looks lovely holding her little 'family'.
Are you OK?
Hello Linda, Those baby chicks in the photo are so adorable!
A delightful post and pictures. I really like that rooster!
well first, I'll be: another Bobbi(e), but I was looking for your Gone is Gone mention as a lover of anything Wanda Gag. Thankfully, I couldn't find it because then I wouldn't have enjoyed your blog as much as I have! My Dad moved to Prescott right when you did. Having terrible asthma in Mn and an Uncle, Bill Bockus, living there, Grandma packed them up for better health. All was well till it Snowed ! she burned the furniture to keep warm and promptly headed back to Mn! I never could find the Wanda mention (steer me?)and would love to link it up!
Does that mean you're not blogging any more?????
(sigh...) Missing you... :o(
She..I'm really beginning to get concerned!
I hope that all is well.
Me too, the last sentence in the post is rather worrisome!
Add me to the concerned list........
I'll keep checking in, just in case.
Good evening Linda,

Eva

Hello she,
I saw that you visited my blog "give them hell" today. You probably saw that it is all in French now. I have switched to French and have French visitors (mostly). Nevertheless I would appreciate if you left me a note there.
Hoping to hear from you,
Eva
She..I just came over to say hello, and to say that I miss your posts, and your visits to my blog. I miss the encouraging words that you always left for me there.

Love you, She..always wondering how you are.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.......we miss you.
So wish we would hear something from you......
It is August already. I so hope you are okay. You are missed:-)
